Day 14: Fort Bragg to San Francisco

We loaded up in Fort Bragg and hit the road keeping our eyes open for a breakfast stop along the way. That search brought us to the Bayview Cafe in Mendocino were we enjoyed a tasty and economical meal .....

...along with a decent view of the bay.

Back underway, we enjoyed the twisty roads and the scenery. A missed turn, which took us away from the coast on CA-128 which we corrected with an über fun return to CA-1 via Mountain View Road, added to the day's fun factor.

A section of CA-1.

The Point Arena Lighthouse.

More CA-1.

Finally after countless twists, turns and "Sunday" drivers, we entered San Francisco via the Golden Gate Bridge.

It took us a while to find a room as the first few hotels we tried were "out of coupon rooms". We finally settled at the Broadway Manor Hotel which, while no Hilton, will serve as our affordable home base within easy walking distance of the prime San Francisco attractions. Our plan is to start with a visit to Pier 39 tomorrow.

For dinner we wandered in the area around the hotel and tried the Tai Chi restaurant. What a gem. We had the scrumptious $29 Chef's Special dinner for 2 which would have almost fed 4!
