Day 19: San Francisco to Fairfield

Today we made our way from San Francisco to Fairfield via the Golden Gate bridge. We decided to take the time to walk the bridge for the view of both the bridge and surroundings. We started by crossing under .... this is what part of the structure looks like.

We started on the north side so we walked across quickly with the intend of taking pictures north to south so we weren't shooting into the sun. Here's looking north from a picnic area after we crossed.

Yes, these are our pictures.

Looking up at one of the towers.

The suspension structure.

The size of the cables.

Back on the road we got a break from the Porsches, BMWs and Audis.

The view coming down from a twisty little back road we took.

From there it was an uneventful drive to Fairfield and the Courtyard Marriot we scored on Priceline. Dinner was our first ever experience at an In-n-Out Burger. Interesting concept and pretty good burgers.

Tomorrow we're planning a drive through high country. It might be time to unpack the parkas.
